1. Edge-AI SoCs that run at 0.5 W
Traditional IP cameras stream raw footage to an NVR or the cloud, burning bandwidth and raising privacy flags. Gcraftsman’s newest IPC-TX5 series embeds a 6 TOPS neural processing unit directly on the sensor board. Object classification, line-cross detection, and even basic behavior analytics occur locally, using less power than a night-light. The result? A 72 % reduction in false alarms and GDPR-friendly deployments for European integrators who can’t send video outside the premises.
2. Hybrid lens assemblies that see through glare, fog, and darkness
Our LPR (license-plate recognition) cameras on Kazakh highways needed to read plates at 80 km/h during snowstorms. We solved this by bonding a 1/1.8" STARVIS sensor to a liquid-crystal tunable filter. In daylight, the filter narrows the spectrum to cut headlight glare; at night, it widens to gather every last photon. The same technology is now inside our GC-PTZ4X dome series for villa installations—so a homeowner in Spain can identify a visitor at 40 m even when the driveway lights are off.
3. Modular “sensor cartridges” for infinite customization
One of our earliest OEM wins was an explosion-proof camera for an oil & gas consortium in the Middle East. They needed a thermal core, a 30× zoom block, and ATEX-certified housing—all in six weeks. Our cartridge architecture let us plug the thermal module into an existing Ex-proof shell without redesigning the mainboard. Today, integrators can mix-and-match cartridges for 4G, LTE, Wi-Fi 6, or even mm-wave radar on the same platform. Lead time? Still 14–18 days thanks to our 2 000-unit safety stock and three SMT lines running 24/7.
